The team Apprentice Carpenter

Cruz is learning the trade with us.

Every qualified builder started as an apprentice with a lot to learn and someone willing to teach them. This page follows Cruz's apprenticeship with ProServNZ, month by month, so his progress is on the record and not just in our heads.

Why we take on apprentices

Because someone did it for us.

The trade needs them

There aren't enough qualified builders in the Bay of Plenty, and there won't be unless businesses like ours put the time in to train them properly.

Real sites, real work

Cruz isn't sweeping floors. He's on live jobs with our team, learning cladding, framing, repairs and finishing on work that has to be right.

Backed the whole way

He works alongside our qualified builders every day, with someone to ask and someone checking the work. That's how you learn to do it properly.

Milestones

The big ones along the way. Ticked off as he gets there.

Monthly updates

What Cruz has been working on, learning and getting stuck into.

Month one

Straight into it

Write two or three sentences here about what Cruz worked on this month. Which jobs he was on, what he had never done before, and what he picked up quickest. Keep it plain and specific. Specific beats flowery every time.

Mention one thing he did well that you would not have expected from someone at his stage. That is the bit he will read twice.

A line from you about how he is getting on. Honest, not gushing. If he had a rough week and pushed through it, say that. Marc, Managing Director

Next update at the end of the month.

Proud of him. Share it around.

Cruz, this one's yours as much as ours. Send it to whoever you want.
